About SMRCC The Shawnee Mission Radio Control Club was founded in 1962 and has always made its home at Shawnee Mission Park, 87th & Renner Road, Lenexa, Kansas The club harbors a deep commitment to having fun with radio control model aircraft! New members and visitors are always welcome. Novice pilots are encouraged to participate in the club's beginner's nights. Each Tuesday evening during the summer (daylight savings) an experienced team of instructors is available to teach newcomers how to fly their planes. Buddy boxes are available, and the field is closed to all but students and instructors.
